Expert bloggers agree that the most effective way to make money with affiliate marketing is to incorporate text links into a post rather than focusing on image ads. You have probably seem blogs splattered with buttons, widgets, and images and this tactic can be counter productive. Too many choices can confuse the reader so they may give up and leave. Another disadvantage when using image links is the time it takes for a page to load. I counted 80 buttons on a blog once – that is simply overkill! Who even wants to look at that? So, what is the most effective way to put your affiliate links out there?
After you have written an informative post about your topic, you can include a little blurb about “learn more here” or “check out this cool product” or “this membership site is really helpful” and CLICK HERE with the link. This strategy is much more effective than covering your blog with images and advertisements. In fact, it is very subtle and looks like an afterthought. Affiliate marketing should not be blatant advertising, it must be subtle.
This creates a no pressure situation for the reader, and does not make you look like a pushy sales person. Being subtle is much more effective than a glaring ad jumping off the page. Of course you will want to include image ads too, just use your discretion so as not to overwhelm the reader with too much visual stimuli.
